The vegetable garden was started more than 20 years ago by a Master Gardener and Hudson Gardens volunteer, Don Stang. At this point in time, the garden was located in a different area and the produce grown was distributed amongst staff. It has since moved and expanded in size to contain 23 raised beds! Deb Moody, along with other dedicated Master Gardeners, leads, and volunteers from the Arapaho County Master Gardener program, have planned, planted, maintained, and harvested the garden. It participates in the Colorado State University “Grow and Give” program that addresses food insecurity in Colorado. All produce harvested is donated to Integrated Family Community Services.

This year, we donated 537.75 pounds of a variety vegetables!

Thank you to our dedicated Arapahoe County Master Gardeners for their contributions to our community, hard work, and extensive knowledge they share through classes and ‘Meet the Vegetable Gardener’ events at Hudson Gardens!
