Observing from real life is critical to developing drawing skills. What better place to do so than in a public garden such as Hudson Gardens. In this class, participants will venture out into the gardens and practice sketching what we see in real life. Participants will learn how to draw objects using geometric forms, beginning perspective and using pencil marks to create texture. Participants need to bring a sketchbook, pencils and erasers. Any size sketchbook is fine, but we will be working outside so a manageable size like 8”x11” is recommended.

Please arrive at least 10 minutes prior to class. No walk-in registrations allowed, you must pre-register. Masks must be worn indoors. Please read our COVID-19 protocols for classes on the main classes/program page.

*Classes may be cancelled, rescheduled or moved to an online format in accordance with public health orders and/or inclement weather.
