On your marks…get set…paint!

Each year, the Oil Painters of America host the Great Paint Out.  As part of this celebration spread across many cities in North America including cities in the United States, the United States of Mexico, and Canada. Hudson Gardens in partnership with the REAL Academy of Art Colorado (RAAC) is inviting artists to paint our thirty-acre landscape. Bring your art supplies, and be ready to capture the beauty of an autumn afternoon at the gardens. Guests are welcome to observe the artists at work! Classically trained and inspired by the Old Masters, my artwork is representational.

My inspirations come from the quotidian beauty all around me, and my main materials are graphite pencils, Contè pencils, and oils.

Karin Toppel

I am a contemporary realist artist with an impressionist’s eye.  My goal is to inspire and transport the audience to another level of beauty and meaning in the wide open spaces of the West.

My studio work is designed utilizing my plein air studies and drawings in order to retain that first response from my original inspiration.
