Every piece of art starts with a drawing whether it is loosening up with drawing exercises, creating basic thumbnail sketches or a detailed study preceding your creation.

Learn the basics of drawing including comprising a strong composition, establishing line quality, and establishing value by using a variety of different techniques from professional artist Christa MacFarlane in this new class. Christa will show how this skill is valuable to all artists no matter the medium through easy-to-understand instructions and demonstrations. Participants will practice skills by creating a drawing from start to finish. No experience is required. All supplies are provided. Teens are welcome.

Christa has a Bachelor’s in Fine Arts from the University of Kansas and has over 25 years of experience as an interior designer, graphic artist and art instructor. “Producing my own artwork with meaning is empowering and connects me to our natural world. Inspiring others through the creative process brings me joy! I hope you can join me in discovering your creative spirit that is a unique and beautiful part of you!” says Christa.
