There are many ways to enjoy a Fall and Winter day whether you’re looking for scenic strolls with a latte from Nixon’s Coffee House, a magical display of holiday lights, or guided bird walks. These articles feature our favorite seasonal attractions and activities.

Please note that some areas at Hudson Gardens are under construction and closed to the public. Construction will be completed in May. Thank you for your patience as we make improvement.

Bird Walks
We’re a birding hotspot all year long. You can explore our thriving habitat during a self-guided bird walk. Guided bird walks led by an Audubon Master Birder from the Front Range Birding Company are also offered. Upcoming bird walks will be posted to our calendar.

Photography
Explore the magic of fall through the lens of your favorite camera. Guests may photograph the grounds without a permit if the photos are solely for personal use. Professional and commercial photographers must purchase a permit.

When you visit Hudson Gardens, be sure to enter and exit through the Gift Shop. You’ll find home décor, multiple flavors of local honey, toys and games, jewelry, and more.

Public Art

Weather permitting, Nixon’s Coffee House at Hudson Gardens is staying open this Fall and Winter. Enjoy a crisp walk with a latte or a hot chocolate!

Winter Weddings
Hudson Gardens has two year-round venues including a historic lodge with stone fireplaces. November and January–April weddings receive a 15% discount.

Songbird Garden
These trails are a great place to experience fall foliage and, of course, multiple species of birds.

Fall Foliage at the Lake
The Lake is our most popular autumn backdrop. Bright oranges, fiery reds, burnt ambers, and soft yellows fall from the towering trees and reflect off tranquil water.

Justin’s Bridge
This footbridge, which overlooks the Lake at Hudson Gardens, is one of the most photogenic backdrops in Colorado. It leads to a small island perfect for picnics.

Monet’s Place
This cobblestone platform has views of willow trees, the Lake, and Justin’s Bridge. Monet’s Place is a popular location for wedding ceremonies, but it’s also an ideal place to sit with a good book and a cup of coffee.

Fall Foliage/Snow at the Barn
Is anything better than the sound of crunching leaves? Our big, red barn is an iconic place for taking an autumn stroll. We also recommend this spot for the perfect Fall photo.

“Sticks and Stones”
Nature Play Area
Made from repurposed logs and stones, “Sticks and Stones” promotes physical activity and imagination for kids and adults alike. Photographers also love this area for portraits.
