In spring the Iris Display Bed complements the early-blooming bulbs growing throughout The Gardens. This bed displays a collection of all-time classics as well as modern irises from hybridizers all over the country, including Colorado. The peak of the iris bloom season generally extends from the last week of May through the first week of June.
Late in the summer, the Dahlia Display Beds put on a dazzling show of vibrant colors and intriguing bloom shapes. Each year, over 100 varieties of dahlias are grown in these beds, many of which grow to tower over visitors’ heads. Dahlias have highly variable sizes and types of petals, and the diversity of its bloom form is showcased throughout the display.
