The Rose Garden displays a collection of over 200 spectacular plantings showcasing varieties that thrive in Colorado’s climate. All the roses in this collection are of the “Modern” rose variety which display more vibrant color and intense fragrance than their “Old Garden” ancestors. The selection consists primarily of Hybrid Teas as well as Floribundas, Grandifloras, and Climbing Roses which adorn the pergolas. A number of the rose plantings are All-America Rose Selections, representing some of the most beautiful, disease-resistant, and easy to maintain of all rose varieties. Each season the Rose Garden is revitalized by selectively removing and then adding a few of the newest and most attractive varieties.
The Rose Garden provides a beautiful backdrop to many events at Hudson Gardens, including weddings and celebrations of life. The engraved bricks on the walkway leading to the Rose Garden commemorate special persons and occasions. For more information about renting the Rose Garden for an event, please visit our Events page.
The Rose Garden is graciously maintained by volunteers led by Master Rosarians of the Denver Rose Society.
