Rose Garden In 2009 the Rose Garden was transformed into a stunning and updated display of roses that thrive in the Colorado climate. The Rose Garden features over 200 spectacular plantings, all of which are “Modern” rose varieties which display more vibrant color and intense fragrance than their “Old Garden” rose ancestors. The selection consists primarily of Hybrid Teas, as well as Floribundas, Grandifloras, and Climbing Roses which adorn the pergolas. Each season the Rose Garden is revitalized by selectively removing and then adding a few of the newest and most attractive varieties. The engraved bricks on the walkway commemorate special persons and occasions. Highlighting the new plantings are 15 All-America Rose Selections (AARS), which are some of the most most beautiful, disease-resistant, and easy to maintain of all rose varieties. Among the plantings are also a wide selection of “celebrity” roses that were named in honor of former presidents, first ladies, cartoon icons, TV talk show hosts, actors, musicians, and more.
