Elemental Energy: Earth, Air, Fire, Water

Elemental Energy: Earth, Air, Fire, Water, displayed from September 2002 to September 2003, is a land art exhibit built to interact with the sun, wind, rain and light. The artists made personal the elements through their specific interpretation, style, materials and composition. See a slide show of these sculptures at The Gardens.

...Windcatcher by Erick C. Johnson...

Windcatcher

Johnson recycles not only shapes but materials that are used to construct three-dimensional structures. Windcatcher offers a feeling of movement and endless possibilities. "My art form invites imagination of its function and does not state its deliberate purpose," he says.

...Earthgate by Charles Parson...

Earthgate

"My art is about connections," states Parson. "Using industrial materials to express these connections becomes my visual vocabulary, asserting the poetry of society's industrial, technological and architectural expressions as they relate to the organic world, and helping to create a definition of the nature of our times."

...Mind Fields by Todd Siler...

Mind Fields

Mind Fields reminds us that the presence of humankind extends far beyond our mere mortal presence in the environment," explains Siler. "It reaches out to and touches on everything in nature. Onward, upward and outward we travel together, seeking that inspired higher awareness which propels us forward toward our ultimate freedom as borderless, creative spirits."

...Particle Moving Through Denver by R. Mangold ...

Particle Moving Through Denver 1999

"My sculpture always includes space forms as well as solid forms and often the solid reduced to the minimum necessary to articulate the space. Since space and time is vitally important to me, I always incorporate real or implied motion in my work."

...Garden of the Winds by G. Peters & M. Walker...

Garden of the Winds

"We are honoring the spirits of the air," says George Peters. The sculpture visually portrays a sense of weightlessness and a spiritual connection to the air through movement and sound.

...Tirgata by Michele Brower...

Tirgata

"A fire has been built between dark waters…with the snap of a spark my scorched soul is released to fly or fall," says Michele Brower about her work.
